Adobe adds OpenAI and Google AI models to Firefly app

Firefly also launched for mobile devices

Adobe has announced that its Firefly app will now include powerful AI image generators from OpenAI and Google. Along with this, Adobe is also launching Firefly on mobile devices, making it easier for users to create images on the go.

About Adobe and Firefly

Adobe is known for popular creative software like Photoshop and Premiere Pro.

From 2023, Adobe is working on its own AI tools under the Firefly brand.

These tools can create images and videos and are designed to be legally safe for commercial use.

New AI models in Firefly

Adobe is now adding several third-party AI models to Firefly, including:

OpenAI's image generator (from the creators of ChatGPT)

Google Imagen 3

Google Veo 2

Flux 1.1 Pro

A new version of Adobe's own Firefly models

More models coming soon:

fal.ai

Luma

Runway

Why Adobe is adding third-party models

According to Adobe's Chief Technology Officer Eli Greenfield:

Many users still prefer to use Adobe's Firefly for final production because it's commercially safe. But others want to try different models for brainstorming and creative ideas." So, Adobe is giving users more options by allowing them to use both Firefly and third-party models.

How it works for users

Users can create images with these new AI models directly in the Firefly app.

They can easily transfer images to other Adobe apps like Photoshop.

Users will use the same credit system to pay for both Adobe and third-party AI models.

Adobe did not share how revenue will be shared with these model providers.
